Blurb for THE ROGUE’S PRIZE:

Captain Henry Guffald is no ordinary captain. A member of Nelson’s Tea, he’s learned the hard way what treachery will achieve. As a result, he’s sworn an oath never to give in to his ambition. Daring, proud Henry sets out to rescue a comrade captured in Spain. But when his ship is attacked by a female pirate roving the Cornish coast, waylaying his plans, Henry is forced to make her his prize if he’s going to save a good man’s life. Lady Adele Seaton has been raised in a family profited by a lucrative smuggling business. Though her parents wish otherwise, she would no sooner give up the call to rove than marry. But obtaining independence is a challenge when her brother faces a hangman’s noose. Planning to save him, she captures an English ship. But things go awry and she is dragged home in disgrace, forced to ally herself with the one man with the power to anchor more than her ship— her heart.

Captain Henry Guffald is a man on a mission. Under orders that will make or break his career, Henry knows that if he fails it is more than his career or his reputation on the line - it’s a man’s life. Suddenly waylaid by a female pirate who insists on being taken seriously and attempts to outwit him, he has no choice but to play the game set down by her father, Earl Pendrim, if he is to save his compatriot’s life.

Adele Seaton tends to act before she thinks and when her father and brothers don’t make a move to save her brother, Garrick, from the Spanish hangman’s noose, she intends to do it herself. She attacks a British ship, she attempts to capture it to use to rescue her brother but soon finds herself the captive and compromised in a way that humiliates her. The result, although not one she would prefer, soon becomes one she desires.

THE ROGUE’S PRIZE by Katherine Bone is a historical romance written with the classic feel of days gone by but with a strong, gutsy, and fiery heroine. A captivating tale of a couple entangled in a battle of wills - Adele Seaton, a young woman struggling against the restraints of society, and Henry Guffald, a man battling the guilt of having nearly failed a past love that now has his career hanging in the balance.

We first meet Henry Guffald in book one of the Nelson's Tea Trilogy, DUKE BY DAY, ROGUE BY NIGHT by Katherine Bone but don't worry if you haven't read that one, you'll still enjoy THE ROGUE'S PRIZE. It works well as a stand alone.

I highly recommend THE ROGUE’S PRIZE by Katherine Bone to any, and all, readers who love a historical romance set on the high seas, pirates, and adventure that throws everyone into danger while keeping you turning the pages late into the night.

Happy Reading Everyone!
